A celebration of identity and visibility.
The group exhibition The Men in the G brings together five figurative painters from five different countries, each with their own unique artistic perspective.
The artists are Amirata Winter (born in Iran, based in Austria), Carlos Corredera (Spain), René Farías (born in Cuba, based in Miami), Ronn Kools (The Netherlands), and Rubber Bandit (Poland).
The artists are united by primarily portraying the male form. In this group, the “G” stands for the “G” in LGBTQIA+
The Men in the G is a celebration of identity, visibility, and the different ways in which masculinity can be experienced and expressed.
The Men in the G exhibited their art in the 360 of the A'DAM Toren, in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, as a World Pride event. The paintings of the artists could be seen from the vernissage on the 30th of July until the 7th of August.
At a time when visibility matters more than ever, these works invite us to look beyond stereotypes. Together, they challenge traditional ideas of masculinity by portraying men not only as strong, but also as vulnerable, romantic, sensual, and tender.
